Here Comes the Sun.
Hey, you! Kick off those blankets, shed that extra layer of clothing, throw open a window and come out of your winter cocoon. Spring is here! After a spirit-breaking winter of brutally cold temps and unending snow (not to mention those depressing late-season storms), Chicago couldn’t be more ready for warm weather. And of course, along with rays of sunshine and warm breezes comes an entire style shift, and suddenly Chicago shoppers hit the boutique pavement with renewed energy, determined to stock their wardrobes with the brightest and best of spring fashion.
So to help stock your closet with warm-weather gear, we’ve just updated the Boutiqueville shopping guide. Once again our fashion-loving creative team pounded the (cold) pavement to get the lowdown on Chicago’s plethora of boutiques, painting a mini-picture of each shop. We’ve got info on the owners, the goods, the vibes, and updated lists of designers for both old reliables and brand-spankin’-new shops. Plus, we asked each owner what they were excited about for their spring collections, and for those who felt particularly dulled by this year’s grim winter you’ll be happy to know that nearly every single one answered, “bright colors!”
So grab that canary yellow coat or kelly green cardigan and hit the sidewalks. There’s fashion to discover, style to score and, most importantly, warm weather to revel in.
Enjoy the sunshine!
