Sad news: The popular Chicago boutique Public I is closing after eleven years in business. The news was announced via a postcard sent to regular customers that announced a store-closing sale: 30 percent off (June 7-20); 40 percent off (June 21-July 3); and 50 percent off (July 8-19). The store will be closed on both Sundays and Mondays over that time period. Public I was an early friend and supporter of Boutiqueville and Newcity’s fashion endeavors; we’re especially saddened by this news.
