Esperanza Davis was on her way to her Women’s Studies Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics final.
How can fashion empower women?
Fashion can empower women because it’s a great avenue for self-expression; it gives women and men the ability to be creative on a regular basis.
Do clothes make the man?
Clothes do not make the man: I think it’s ridiculous when people judge someone based on the way they dress. Clothing is the easiest thing to change, some people might need a little sprucing up—others, not so much.
How is fashion important to you?
It is important to me because I believe it’s one of the ways each individual person displays themselves to the world. When people look good they feel good, and that’s awesome.
What item of your outfit did you pick out first?
My knitted pants. The rest just fell in place. Planning an outfit or thinking about it never works for me, I look a mess if I do.
