Becca Duggan was coming from a brunch with her fiancé in Wicker Park.
What’s the first thing you think about when you’re coming up with an outfit?
Fashion is very much about self-expression for me so I tend to look through my closet and see what I haven’t worn in a while and how I can mix and match different pieces together. I rarely wear the same clothes the same way so I’m pretty big on layering. It’s a great way to keep your wardrobe fresh without having to buy new clothes. I’m also a fan of minimal, yet statement accessories. For example, if I wear a belt, I won’t wear a necklace because it looks too busy in my opinion.
Why did you decide to dress this cute on a Sunday morning?
As an avid yogi, Sunday yoga is one of my favorite weekend activities. However, on this Sunday I slept through class and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to go to a lovely brunch with my fiancé. That and the fact I had just gotten some new cute stuff for Christmas and I was excited to play dress up with it.
What inspires you the most?
Originality, self-expression, heroic acts, yoga, compassion, my friends, family and fiancé—the list goes on and on. I try to find inspiration and passion on a daily basis to stay mindful and grounded. In terms of fashion, my sister is a huge inspiration because she is stylish and chic.
Where did you get this fabulous blue eyeliner?
That was a wonderful Christmas gift from my sister that I was testing out. MAC used to make a similar liquid eyeliner, and I was devastated when it was discontinued. The replacement she found was only $7 at a drug store! The brand is Milani. The eyeliner is an example of a great way to add a subtle pop of color to an otherwise neutral ensemble.
