What do you look for in a garment?
I wear a lot of black so I look for interesting details, textures and silhouette in garments that set them apart from the “norm.”
What designers are inspiring you right now?
Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons is one of the original avant-garde designers who continues to inspire me because she isn’t afraid to continually challenge the established concepts of what fashion is. Two other designers that I also find myself wearing a lot recently are Rick Owens and Julius.
Could you tell me a bit about your outfit? Why did you go for an all-white look?
I usually wear all black so I decided on an outfit that would be the opposite of what people would expect. The same outfit in black is also in my closet—I guess I’m a bit obsessive.
What does style mean to you?
Style is your inner self personified in the pieces that you curate for your personal wardrobe.
What is your all-time fashion movie?
It may be cheesy but I love anything with Audrey Hepburn. Her enduring relationship with Hubert de Givenchy was a true artist/muse dynamic that extended from Hepburn’s personal style to her onscreen personas.
What are your favorite fashion magazines and websites?
I read The Cut blog everyday for a roundup of fashion updates. Man of the World, CR and W are some titles that I’ve picked up recently with interesting content.
